As you know… we are a national talent attraction & retention program led by World Business Chicago in partnership with City of Chicago, the University of Illinois System, and the City Colleges of Chicago.
🔙 Stuff We Did:
OUR FIRST(!) EVER THINKCHICAGO IMPACT
At the end of February student teams from over 20 different colleges and universities participated in our first ever ThinkChicago IMPACT. Pitching their innovative ideas to tackle some of Chicago’s biggest challenges. All while networking with leaders, getting mentored by professionals, and winning a cash prize — courtesy of Microsoft.
ThinkChicago IMPACT is an annual opportunity for Chicagoland-area undergraduate students to participate in a week-long, immersive case competition regarding prevalent social issues, culminating with teams presenting a hypothetical pitch simulation.
With prompts relating to FOOD INNOVATION, CLEANTECH, and MEDTECH, students were tasked with creating innovative solutions to a plethora of systemic issues and absolutely rose to the challenge. Congratulations to everyone who participated! Our top-scoring teams were:
1ST PLACE - PROJECT MED
2ND PLACE - PANTRY SCREEN
3RD PLACE - HUGO SMITH
A big thank you to all of our partners and sponsors including Microsoft, Farmer’s Fridge , Tech Nexus, Matter, and Gener8tor!
ThinkChicago Spring Break
We had 70+ students attended our ThinkChicago Spring Break this year! Through this day-long event, students engaged in networking opportunities, professional development activities, and keynote speaker presentations. Students also had the opportunity to tour and learn more about companies such as John Deere and BP.
